WhiteBox Marketing is actively seeking an enthusiastic, smart, seasoned, and business-minded marketing professional for the client-focused, business development role of Marketing Strategist / Business Development Specialist. This experienced and highly motivated person will be assigned to specific clients to facilitate and maintain the agency’s relationship with them and strategize their marketing goals, while being directly responsible for business growth and contributing to business development in a positive team-focused manner. They will be responsible for managing accounts and campaigns from start to finish (with the support of our in-house project coordinators and creative team), developing and implementing marketing strategies, and maintaining project budgets and reporting. This person will be expected to bring new ideas while following agency processes. In addition, she or he will serve as a main face of the agency within community involvement and networking opportunities. The perfect candidate would have:

  • Experience and success in business growth, as well as proven working knowledge of today’s best marketing tactics and strategies
  • Five to seven years of career experience in a similar role; bonus for existing business partnerships
  • Enthusiasm for relationship-based partnerships, where you’ll use your voice to confidently lead forward and present new solutions to clients, helping them understand the value of our full-service approach
  • The desire to not only develop new clients, but to grow and develop existing partnership with unmatched service and excellent communication
  • An outgoing people-focused personality with an upbeat, can-do, fun-forward attitude
  • Outstanding leadership skills and a passion for helping clients reach their goals efficiently
  • Motivated by a commission-based compensation structure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must; ability to ask the right questions during discovery sessions to gain valuable insight up front
  • Strong attention to details, deadlines, budgets, and timelines
  • Expertise in media placement, digital campaigns and metrics, and selling the value of marketing
  • Dedication to sharing ideas and contributions with the group as a team leader
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, energetic industry

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop smart, conversion-focused marketing strategies that deliver client results
  • Lead and manage individual client accounts as assigned, while co-leading key accounts as needed
  • Manage projects and new business development leads as assigned
  • Contribute to the sales team in bringing new strategic leads to the agency
  • Write strategic proposals, estimate new projects, and create budgeted marketing plans
  • Engage in networking opportunities as the face of WhiteBox Marketing
  • Devote time to community involvement on behalf of the agency
  • Clearly articulate details of new projects to Creative Director and Creative Team
  • Manage client media buying and placement
  • Contribute an already upbeat, professional work culture
  • Attend conferences, tradeshows, and other off-site opportunities for Business Development
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work from our St. Cloud home base agency location; must be willing to travel to key markets
